Eduardo Vega, M.Psy
Founder, Chief Executive & Experience Officer
An internationally recognized thought leader in mental health systems, programs and policy, consumer/patient engagement, stigma reduction, men’s health and suicide prevention, Eduardo Vega’s work continues to drive the forefront of change for mental health worldwide. A former Fulbright Specialist and California State Mental Health Commissioner, he has spearheaded progressive social and public health change at local, national and international levels.
For over 30 years, Vega has worked for the improvement of lives and systems of care in behavioral health. A suicide attempt survivor who experienced serious mental health conditions himself since childhood, Vega has worked in virtually every psychosocial and clinical mental health service setting, as well as performing executive roles in government, behavioral health research, business and non-profit administration.
As President and CEO of Mental Health Association of San Francisco from 2010 to 2016, he drove organizational expansion near one-thousand percent in three years, focusing on innovation in programs. peer-support services, policy advocacy and community empowerment.
Vega was invited expert of the White House Office of Science and Technology on tech innovations for suicide prevention, consulted on the Seed and Series A development of the Ginger.io mental health platform. He has consulted with Facebook, Google and other major technology corporations, the World health Organization, multiple state and national governments as well as significant research programs. He serves on the Executive Committee of the National Action Alliance for Suicide Prevention and the Board of Recovery Dharma International among others.
Previously, Vega served at the executive management level of the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, one of the world’s largest public mental health authorities. His work has been recognized by the US Surgeon General, the World Health Organization, the US State Department, the International Institute for Mental Health Leadership and State of California among others.

Training and Program Director, Lisa Goodale, MSW. Ms. Goodale is a licensed social worker and a family member of people with lived mental health experience, has been Training and Development partner with Mr. Vega and Humannovations since 2019. She served for more than 20 years as senior leadership with the national headquarters of the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA), including as Consulting Services Vice President. Goodale co-developed DBSA’s nationally recognized Certified Peer Specialist training curriculum and spearheaded its approval of by Department of Veterans Affairs Office of Mental Health Services and the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs. She has served as a research co-investigator for the NIMH-funded Pilot Trial of Peer Support for Bipolar Disorder; and as an Expert Panel Member for the Patient Centered Outcomes Research Insitute (PCORI), Peer Specialist Services in the VA: Fidelity of Implementation study Goodale is a systems-change and mental health programming expert who has provided technical assistance, training, and contracted consultation to a wide range of entities, including Westat, Magellan Health, the National Association of Peer Specialists and the SAMHSA Recovery to Practice Project. She creates and delivers online and conference-based workshops, training/continuing education courses, and organizational technical assistance and has served served as co-author for a wide range of publications focused on recovery and the value of peer support.

Paul Pfeiffer, MD. M.Sci

Dr. Pfeiffer is the Susan Crumpacker Brown Research Professor of Depression at the University of Michigan Medical School, Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Pfeiffer’s research interests include suicide prevention, peer-based interventions in mental health care, and promoting effective care transitions. After earning an undergraduate degree in computer science from Dartmouth College in 1997, Dr. Pfeiffer earned his medical degree from U-M in 2004, stayed on for his residency in psychiatry, and then completed a research fellowship where he earned a master’s degree in health and healthcare research in 2009. Dr. Pfeiffer has served as the Principal Investigator for multiple current and past federally funded studies, has published over one-hundred peer-reviewed manuscripts, and holds a joint appointment with the US Dept of Veteran’s Affairs where he conducts research and provides direct patient care. Dr. Pfeiffer recently completed a 5-year NIMH-funded multi-site randomized controlled trial of PREVAIL, a peer support intervention for suicide prevention.
NB: Dr. Pfeiffer (PI) and Mr. Vega (Co-I) collaborated on the design, training, implementation and evaluation of NIMH-funded R34 and RO1 PREVAIL studies over the course of seven years.

Ali Naeini, Ph.D.

Ali Naeini is an AI technology leader with a decade of experience directing research and product development at startups in San Francisco, New York, and Los Angeles. During his PhD he explored novel machine-learning architectures, expertise he later applied as head of R&D at two unicorns. At Spotter, listed among LinkedIn’s Top Startups 2024, he led creation of a multimodal story-generation pipeline aligned with human creativity via reinforcement learning from human feedback, achieving the highest creativity score in early 2024, and oversaw training of a state-of-the-art image generator now used by leading creators such as MrBeast. At Business Insider he built two AI products—an in-house LLM-driven topic-authority model and an article-update model—that boosted advertising revenue by 15 percent and 8 percent, respectively. Ali is proficient in Python, PyTorch, SQL, Spark, Docker, and Kubernetes; experienced with LLM alignment, diffusion models, graph neural networks, and PPO-based reinforcement learning; and cloud-native across AWS, GCP, and Azure.

Joel Bosch

Mr. Bosch spent 30 years in general management consulting and financial services. He created some of the first online banks in the US and is the inventor on a patent for opening, funding and pricing deposit accounts over the internet.
